The Feeling of Fall

Wow, I just was in the backyard watering the flowers. Forget the garden….it’s history! Anyway, that stifling, blood curdling heat seems to be dissipating. Yeah! I’ve always considered myself a sweater person. Like it just a bit “nippy”! How ’bout you? There’s something quiet and serene on a Fall day. The birds are singing and I’ve seen several butterflies today! No matter the weather, take time to be thankful today. It’ll change your thoughts, which will change your world! Henry sends his best as he begins his journey “underground”! Take care my friend, Linda

Little Thoughts for a Big Day!

Good Morning and Top of the Day to You, Here’s something to think about as you wander through the Game of Life today:

There was a man who saw a scorpion floundering around in the water. He decided to save it by stretching out his finger, but the scorpion stung him. The man still tried to get the scorpion out of the water, but the scorpion stung him again.

Another man nearby told him to stop saving the scorpion that kept stinging him. But the man said: “It is the nature of the scorpion to sting. It is my nature to love. Why should I give up my nature to love just because it is the nature of the scorpion to sting?”

Don’t give up loving. Don’t give up your goodness. Even if the people around you HURT and STING.

So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest.
(sent to me by one of my friends)

And, yes, you will reap the harvest! :O) Have a great one! Linda

Had enough of the coooooooolllllllddddd??????? I’m starting to realize what my little Henry (The Tulip Bulb) felt in the dark, damp, cold ground. Wow, time to light a fire in the fireplace, make a pot of chili and think of warm, sultry summer breezes. How ’bout you? What do you like to do when it’s cold and dark outside? Maybe you could warm your heart with prayer and meditation and a cup of hot, steamy coffee????? I feel my “blanky” calling….just wanted to wish you a very Happy, Henry Day and lots of love and hugs, Linda

Loving your Neighbor as Yourself could mean this…..

I read this today and thought you would enjoy it….Hugs, Linda

People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be
shot down by the smallest person with the smallest mind.
Think big anyway.
What you spend years building may
be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack if you help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have
and you might get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

Good Morning, my friend….I took this off of an email I received this morning….”Cherish the time you have, and the memories you share …
Being friends with someone is not an opportunity but a sweet responsibility”.. and, just maybe, your greatest friend could be that someone in your family?? Let’s remember our Savior’s birth today…..our Greatest Friend….the One that will never leave you….take some time to get to know Him….you’ll never regret it! Hugs and Merry Christmas, Linda

Following Your Conscience!

As we prepare for a weekend of Thankful Celebrations, let us remember to live with a grateful heart….always! God’s Voice is eternal and changeless. He leads us to decisions based on trust, compassion, understanding and kindness. Your conscience is a Great Teacher who lives within you. And even more than a Great Teacher, your conscience is a Great Treasure. Our country was founded on these principles. I pray that we, as a nation, will once again return to the “Proddings” from this Great Friend. May you choose happiness today, my friends, and may you love your family, count your blessings and sincerely pray for this great nation. Hugs, Linda

Good Morning!

As your feet hit the floor this morning, may you be ever reminded of the Father’s “Quiet Presence” in your life. Take a few moments to thank Him and to set yourself on the right path. Let Him direct your ways today…..let your day be filled with excitement. And, isn’t this cooler weather fantastic?… not quite, “sweater weather” but pretty close. My first cup of coffee awaits me. And, don’t you love that first sip? Have a great day….walk in His truths and be guided by love! Your friend, Linda

A Tuesday to Love!

When Henry the Tulip was just a little bulb, he had no idea what the “Big Plan” was for him. Each day holds a beautiful gift to us, and with that being said, an aire of excitment should awaken you each morning! There’s a big plan for your life, too! Tap into the Creator of you and this universe. He has a beautiful plan for you, my friend! Embrace life and all it has to offer! Take a moment to tell God that you love Him and be thankful for all of His blessings! A brand new day awaits! I’m praying for you to have a wonderful one! Your friend, Linda

Saturday Afternoon Football!

Do you feel it in the air???? The neighbor’s cats are chasing each other. The trees have a slight breeze running through them and the skies are overcast. It’s Florida, though, so the humidity’s still high and the flowers still beg for water!

Every man I know is now gluing himself to his “Big Screen” on this day of the week. Reminds me of when I lived in Ohio…..fireplace going, crunchy apples, popcorn and of course, “Go Bucks!”

Whether you’re throwing the pigskin or watching it, don’t forget the “game of life!” Have fun, hug your children, pray for our country and smile…..somebody might just might seriously need it! Hugs, Linda

Second Chances

We serve a God of second chances….and, thankfully, so! As were His very own disciples; like, for instance, Peter….each day is a second chance on life! A chance to do better, to love longer, to live happier, and to remain in faith.

As a painter, I find a new canvas to be so refreshing and even exhilerating. Mixing up the paints, sketching out the composition, and then virtually laying out the vibrant color….wow! I believe if we looked at each day with God, in that same way, we would take on a more joyful approach to our journey.

Have a “Wow” day, my friend, and know that you are blessed!
It’s a day of second chances for all of us!

Hugs, Linda
