Wrapping “it up!”

Another year is coming to a close, my friends.  As you reflect back on the last 12 months have you come to any conclusions?  Have you taken the opportunity to thank your friends and family for all their thoughtfulness and love?  If you’ve experienced a difficult year, then perhaps you can be thankful that you’re embarking on a new “canvas” or a New Opportunity!  And, I’m also thankful for new opportunities, friendships, smiles and, yes, even the tears.  It is my prayer that the wounds heal but sometimes the scars should remain. That way, we never forget what we’ve been through, what we have survived, what we have overcome. As this New Year approaches, determine in your heart to let the little things go, hold on to the big things and be extra generous with your smiles. The world needs them and you’ll feel better too! Blessings, Linda

Building Bridges not Walls

One of my favorite places in St. Augustine is the Bridge of Lions.  It has been undergoing a full restoration for several years now and is scheduled to be completed late 2009.  Let your life be illustrated by bridges, not walls, my friends.  Use it to “cross over” troubled waters, mend brokeness, and to rebuild your life and others.  Somedays a full restoration might be needed, other days a “temporary fix”.  Either way, your life will be better for it and the world will have witnessed true salt.

The Unspoken Word

Perhaps you’ve felt it with a look, a gesture, a “sign”…..many years ago three wise men felt it with the light from a star.  A star that led them to the Son of God, Jesus Christ, a man that would turn the tables in the temple and the world upside down.  The star didn’t say a word but compelled three intelligent beings to action.  Today, may your life, “light” compell others to graciousness and peace.  While we celebrate His birth, let us remember amidst all the chaos, there stands a light that cannot be quenched.  May that Light fill your soul with  joy even in this hour.

Pope John Paul II said, “Teach your children how to forgive, make your homes places of love and forgiveness; make your streets and neighborhoods centers of peace and reconcilliation.”  How would yours and my life be different if we chose to live like this???  Perhaps our world would be a better place???  I will leave you with those thoughts.  Have a restful night and  peaceful sleep.

Henry’s Out and About

Today Henry and I were out and about in St. Augustine. Wow, what fun….stay tuned for some awesome photos on henrythetulipbulb.com. It’s amazing to see how young and old alike smile and giggle when they see him! Even when Henry expressed his “My Life Stinks!” in his book, “Henry’s Life as a Tulip Bulb”, readers round the world adore and relate to him. Just like Henry learned to develop an attitude of gratitude, I hope you are being thankful today. It’ll do your heart (and everyone else’s good!) And, remember….when you’re “blooming and growing in love” you’ve got no time for all the other “stuff!”

WOW, THE SUNSHINE!

Haven’t the days been perfect here?  I talked to my family up north and it’s snowing and cold.  I love this Florida weather.  And am thankful for no snow or ice on the windshield.  If you can’t think of anything else to be thankful for today, just start being thankful for these beautiful crisp skies and pretty soon, you’ll be seeing other things around you for which you can be thankful.  Have a great Henry Day…..Life truly is Good!!!

The Sunshine of Gratefulness

As you begin your day, and hopefully before your feet hit the ground, take a few minutes to reflect on your many blessings.  Yesterday, did you experience sunshine on your face, did you enjoy some good food, were you thirsty and received some water, were you able to walk to your chosen destination, did you have a warm, comfortable bed?  These are some of the “little” things we sometimes take for granted each day.  Take a few minutes to begin being thankful….you’ll be surprised how your life will change when gratitude basks in the sunshine of your soul.  Have a deliciously, happy, Henry day, my friends!

FEELING FRAZZLED????

I began my day at 1:30 this morning…another sleepless night.  How ’bout you??  We’ve got alot on our minds these days, along with alot on our plates.  It’s time to take out the “Focus Factor” and let Him guide our lives.  Simplicity is always best, always brillant, always peaceful.  As you begin your day (no matter what time) take your worries, place them at the feet of our God and leave them there.  Since doing that, I believe sleep is coming!  Nighty night!

WOW, WHAT A SKY LAST NIGHT!

Did you see the planets with the moon last night?  It was spectacular!  The sky was crisp and clear and what a reminder it was of God’s love.  I opened my studio doors and marveled.  Let us remember to always be thankful for the beauty bestowed upon this earth!  While you’re working today, stop for a minute and reflect on your blessings.  You’ll feel refreshed and your mind will clear.  Have a happy “Henry” day!

Be like the sun–Radiate!

Be like the moon—Glow!

Be like the stars–Shine!

and Be like the Grass–Grow!

As you celebrate the beginning of your week, make good plans, follow your plan and then relax and be thankful for health to make it happen.  As always, Have a happy Henry Day!
