No. 2 on Henry’s List of “Attitudes of Gratitudes” is to develop positive traits in  your own life.  Everyday is a fresh canvas.  If  you haven’t broken out of your past life traits, right now is when you can start anew.  If you haven’t been a thankful person before, take a look at your “canvas”.  Are you healthy?  Do you have food to eat?  Do  you have a warm bed?  A morning cup of coffee?  Wow, let’s start by being thankful right here.  You might be surprised how a feeling of gratitude will sweep over you and your world will appear differently.  Take the time to give a word of thanks and your “painting” will become fresh, calming and filled with beautiful color.

So you’ve gotten  your fill of turkey?  Well, with all that seratonin, you should have slept well last night.  Yesterday was a great day with family and friends.  And, are you still feeling thankful???  If not, let me give you a gentle reminder…..were you happy today, did you eat well (never mind that it might have been leftovers!), did you sleep in a safe, warm bed?  While others in this world were maybe scared, starving, maybe even dying, it’s a good time to remind yourself to be thankful and to create an “attitude of gratitude”.  In fact, Henry’s #1 goal for today is to choose intelligent, positive and supportive friends to surround yourself.  They’ll remind you of all the good things in your life, when things might appear “blackest”.  As you “shop til you drop” today, remember to thank God for all your blessings and to become a better person for all that has been placed in your life.

I just got back from a mini-tour of St. Augustine. We went to the Lighthouse

CVS (we had to pick up some batteries for my smoke detector and a little gift for a friend) and, finally, the beach.

I took my sandals off at the beach and was quite happy that I walked 10 minutes out and 10 minutes back. It was a beautiful Thanksgiving Day. Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery and a beautiful time to be alive.

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

It’s a beautiful morning…

It’s a beautiful morning in Saint Augustine and I wish you a great and wonderful happy Thanksgiving. While today is a great reminder of what we need to be thankful for… we realize that we need to be thankful, EVERY day for our blessings.

Greetings from St. Augustine

The Nights of Lights has begun. Last Friday night, an annual event was launched which starts the week before Thanksgiving and ends January 31st.

If you would like to see a spectacular display of white lights that illuminate the historic buildings of St. Augustine, then you will want to visit us this winter. Millions of white lights create a wonderful tapestry of brilliant and magical optical delights. Celebrate this holiday season with Henry and me in the Nation’s oldest city during the 15th Annual Nights of Lights Celebration in St. Augustine, Florida.

From their web site at www.nightsoflights.com  you read that its origins date back “to the Spanish tradition of displaying a lighted white candle during the Christmas holidays, the spectacular lighting reflects the city’s 443-year history while creating a beautiful setting for special memories. ”

Please consider a visit to St. Augustine this winter to enjoy the evening lights and the pleasant climate!
